Connie and Carla is one of those movies that sneaks up on you, in spite of yourself.. The whole enterprise is scrubbed clean of the very quirks such a comedy craves.. ... just awful.. Somehow this well-intentioned film cannot help but turn an uncompromisingly original artist into a formula.. You don't need to be a fan of Dury's music to enjoy 'Sex & Drugs...'.
